Subject:Re: Larry Young's "Visions"/ The Moontrane

Wow .... that was a CX3. I have only encountered one once, awhile back at
American Music in Seattle. On the version I heard the chorus vibrato wasn't
wonderful. I hear there are other versions.

I just learned "The Moontrane" ( written by Woody Shaw ..... maybe you knew
) from a fake book chart I found. I found voicings that seem to work and
worked it out that way. I think that it is a tune that has universal appeal.

For those who are curious, The Moontrane can be heard on Larry Young's UNITY
album. Gorgeous Hammond tone on this, and no leslie speed switching
whatsoever is used on any track. Also noteworthy on this session is Larry's
performance on BEYOND ALL LIMITS.

It is nice to chat with some Larry Young fans out there.
