Seems this thread goes from 'conservative point, so no drawbars-no Hammond' to the other end 'whatever sounds Hammond , even without presets, slides, buttons, etc. , still falls under Hammond category'
As an user of VOCE MIDI module, and same time lover of drawbars at the point I've purchased a couple of full drawbars sets for MIDIfying them, guess that I'm almost 'middle of the road'.
As Christian tells, a Hammond isn't a MIDI GM module, actually is true, but that is sorta preset keys in some aspect , 'stops' same as in a VOCE module without drawbars can be set easily driven without sliding anything just looking for the right 'stop' in a digital way if actioned from a LED viewer enabled MIDI keyboard.
Let me say that even not being a classical purist, I love drawbars and lacking of them actually would be a missing feature I hd hoping for many years.
An analogy with photography.
I bought a digital camera 8 MP with a 'Leica' lens (this woul be 'my new Nord) great for the web and 6x9" prints as long to upload vids to youtube.
Still have to keep my medium format Mamiya for those enlargements that have to be done 'as in the old days' so without 'digital noise (aka grainy images)
Now there are cameras accepting 6x4.5cm as long 6x7cm negatives, at the same time that featuring digital backs as add-ons, saddly beyond the 10k range.
That's the idea, why not to keep the best of both worlds 'all in one' ?
Otherwise this can be seen as the days of 80ish Mac vs Intel flames , now the war is almost over, as Macs are Intel based !
Agree that it's possible that the guys from Sweden hear our 'wish-list' and some day would see a drawbar enabled Nord, isn't this , dreaming too much ?

Actually, the Hammond itself with percussion controls way over on the right
is not best ergonomics either - it's just been the standard for 70 years.
