Leo,

I had similar troubles when try to install software designed for XP even an Office-like from 'bigblue'.

Didn't work at first intent , so used 'rightclick' to explore the CD and ran the .exe instead of using any .msi installer (doesn't work as there was a missing binary file).

It worked in a second try , so recommend that everything should be copied in a directory OUT of 'Program files' directory , like this

C:\users\myname\.....

1. There after copying all the files, rightclick the .exe file and take the option 'Run as admin' in the pulldown menu.

2. If that doesn't work then do rightclick again , same as before but instead of 'run as admin' use the 'Properties' tab , the last in the pulldown menu.

2. There you'll have sorta 'silver bullet' which is using the 'Compatibility' tab (second from left in Properties tab).

There Vista offers the option to emulate XP mode so that option should be activated, you'll see 'Windows XP with service pack 2' what when marked gets XP emulation mode.

Everything should be done with this motto in mind: 'Vista will treat anything jumping to Program Files as a virus' so troubles can appear as in your case.

IMO Windows Vista has been undestimated and that leads to work on it not as their actual potential

For those not using it yet, can be got for 69 bucks (Vista Home Premium at robobargains.com , cheaper than Windows XP).

A good site for budget concious people.

Hope that helps.

Best,

Rafael

I know this is way off topic. The only connection is that I record my CX3 into this low-cost sequencer. I have been using Voyetra's Digital Orchestra Pro running under Window xp for a few years now. I just bought a new computer with vista operating system and I can't get digital pro to run on it. It keeps asking me to run the seup program which I can't find anywhere. The program was originally downloaded from the Voyetra websight and of course this product and any suport for it is long gone. Any ideas.
Thanks, Leo
