Brandon,
Their padding is about 3/4 inch thick, and it's good. It's not like cheap gig bags like you see at many stores. The C1 gig bag (or I should say case) has thick padding as you know, but it's almost like a hard case. The Colorado Case Co gig bag doesn't provide as much protection as the Nord C1 case because the Nord C1 case has a hard shell between padding. But, it's so much better than other gig bags, and they really work for your needs, so I believe you can even increase padding. You can also choose different colors, and it has either 3 year or life time warranty (I cannot remember). My gig bag is red, so it looks like the Nord gig bag.
I just really needed the gig bag like that because I use C1 at least twice a week, and I need to load in and set up quickly. I tried to do that with the Nord C1 case, but it took time because it was heavy, and I had to roll it. Also, the handles are small and spread so it wasn't comfortable to lift it. If you feel the same way like I do, I recommend a custom gig bag from Colorado Case Co.

Hal,
Is the case Colorado Case Co. padding as thick on the sides and corners as the C1 case? Does it provide as much protection as the Nord case? I have the Nord bag and agree it adds a great deal of weight, more than necessary.
Thanks, Brandon

Darren,
Get a cheaper gig bag for now and order the custom made gig bag for C1 from Colorado Case Company. www.coloradocase. com It takes a month to get it, but their gig bag is the best. I got the gig bag for C1 from Nord, but it was too heavy for a gig bag. The reason I use C1 is the light weight, but the Nord C1 gig bag adds a lot of weight, so there is no way you can carry it with a shoulder strap, and it doesn't has a shoulder strap anyway. So, I returned the C1 gig bag right away and ordered a custom made gig bag from Colorado Case. Both are almost the same price, and now I can carry C1 easily.
Hope this helps.
Hal
