In the Machinehead era Jon Lord was using Marshall PA cabinets - not
guitar or bass cabinets. They looked a lot like the Altec-Lansing
cabinets that lots of bands used for PA back then. Contained a ported
15 and a big metal horn. Definitely what he used in the concert I
attended. You can see glimpses of them in various videos including
classic albums: Machinehead that's making the rounds lately on VH1-
classics.
