I fiddled with the sim on mine for the first months I had it, but the plan was to go thru a real leslie...Since I record, the leslie is the choice for rotor work...I like the 8M hammond tone I hear and when I found the only existing 8M in LA that I could actually try and buy, I used headphones to demo it at the Fountain Valley GC, only GC I could find in the southern California area that was willing to let go of one after an open the box demo...only GC Hollywood had one before finding the one at Fountain Valley, but didn't want to open it....all the other GC's further south of LA didn't... and I'm from the Oceanside area...

Sure wish it had the direct leslie connector on the 8M but they won't give you everything. Anyway it makes you work at getting an agreeable tone through the 1/4 jack.

I tried the VK8 and even the 760 but I needed the module..

Yeah the chorus/vib on the 8M is decent...

I've been working on my eventual controller, for a while actually, which is going to be a re-keyed to rounder edged keys Hammond BC upper manual which will be re-cased and a midi circuit added to it. New felts and cleaned buss bars... For now am using an old Kawai Spectra as controller as I had one laying around. Surprisingly but then not, the Roland AX-1 (keytar) seems to trigger the 8M better than the Kawai.. But it doesn't have 61 keys...

It's not finished yet but here's the actual board ready for re-casing and midifying after the re-key, including the preset keys, re-felt and cleaned buss bars.. You can see the old square BC keys on the floor.

The first tine I heard VK8 inside my head I hollered "Eureka!". This was the

chorus vibrato sound I has been looking for in a clone.
