Subject:Re: MotionSound PRO-145: slow speed change
Hello Guido
I had this same issue, and I got the same e-mail response from them. I have a Pro-3tm
(not new, I bought it in May of '03). I have had to replace the belt countless times - it
becomes dirty/greasy/squeaky - often I open up the unit and clean the belt - lots of black
residue comes off it. However, when it is too clean, it squeaks when ramping up and
slowing down. Just this week, I fired it up for the first time since last September - it took
FOREVER to speed up. I thought something might have been wrong with the motor, but it
turns out the belt was just greasy/dirty or whatever. I cleaned it off the other night, and
now the ramp times seem more accurate.
Did you buy your Pro-145 new? If it is well-used, a dirty or greasy belt may be the
problem. I don't know why mine needed replacement so much. For over 4 years, my Pro-
3tm was used almost exclusively in my church (never in a dirty/smoky environment) and I
continually had the problem of incorrect ramp times/squeakiness.
Hope this helps
Marc
