Subject:Re: Amps etc
I'm in the same boat as you w/ my Clonewheel. I would love to use an
amp with a smaller footprint but still retain full range sound.
I'm using a KC350 right now and it sounds good with my leslie sim but
I can tell that there is no sense of motion since it's not a stereo amp.
I originally thought the K4 or KP200s was the best way to go. The
reviews of both of them are mixed.
The K4 doesn't seem to have the best stereo separation although there
is tons of power.
The KP200s (I tried this at Guitar Center) had nice Hi's and Mid's but
the bass was lacking. My KC dealt better w/ the bass.
If I were you, I'd wait for the new KP500SN or the 360 1/2. Both of
them seem to have more power than the KP200SN and I'm really intrigued
by the 360 1/2. They're both on the heavier side though. I e-mailed
motion sound and supposedly they'll be available in May.
If these don't work out for me, I think I'm going to get some Eon's.
Good luck and let me know what you end up getting!
