Hi Folks,

Out of lurker mode for some comment and questions. Someone recently asked about a Motion Sound Pro-3X. I have one, and I'm happy with it. Granted, I'm new to clonewheels and I'm not as particular as most of you are. I'm more of a piano/synth player who would use organ patches when needed. However, a year ago I was in a band playing a lot of 'organ songs' and decided to get a clonewheel.

My rig was a Roland RD-700 piano running thru a Behringer mixer into a powered JBL EON. I then added a Hammond XK-1 and the Motion Sound
PRO-3X. I like the way my setup sounds, and I like having the drawbars to work with. Again, not being an 'organ player' per se, this was all new to me, and I enjoyed the sound. So, for whomever it was that was asking about the PRO-3X, I'm a satisfied customer for what it does.

Now the question part :)
The band I referred to earlier is no longer, so I'm left to playing my rig in my basement, or when I get the occasional fill-in gig. I may be joining a band that plays places where my entire setup will fit, and another steady gig at a place where I'll be hard pressed to fit in one of the 'boards. (I play classic rock/pop to recent rock/pop as well).

So I'm thinking of eliminating the EON & mixer from my setup and getting a 'keyboard amp'. A tight $ budget comes into play, so I don't have the opportunity to get 'the best' but something that suits my needs (hopefully on a few levels).

The Roland KC series comes to mind, either the 350, maybe the 550, though I wouldn't mind moving up to stereo either. (having 2 EONS or KC350's sort of defeats the purpose too). Someone mentioned the Groove Tubes SFX Station, I am curious about how that's working out. Also, if there are any users of a Traynor K2 or K4, please comment on them.

I live in Central Mass, so if there are readers in this area who gig with clonewheels and/or other 'boards, I'd like to come check it out sometime.

Thanks in advance...this forum is a great source of information & opinion.

Wes
