Subject:CX-3 sub-tones
Hey,
This is addressed primarily to Bruce, since he seems to have the most
experience on this list with the Korgs, but I thought others might
have the same question and be interested in any answers that come up......
I use the CX-3 with a 2 manual set-up (using my Nord Electro for the
top manual) by setting up a split and then running the split point all
the way up to the top of the keyboard. I've noticed that when playing
two or three note chords in the upper range of the lower manual, there
is a kind of odd sub-harmonic tone that becomes apparent, and pretty
annoying (a most un-Hammond like sound... my A-110 does not do this).
I used to think it was just something about the way I had the two
manuals set up, with the keyboard split, but then I tried out a BX-3,
which HAS two separate manuals, and it made the same obnoxious sound
when playing chords in the upper range of the lower manual.
Anybody have any idea why it does this? Is there any way around it,
or is it just part of the way the Korg is designed?
Thanks,
Randy Rush
