Subject:Re: VB3 live
I am sorry but I can't understand the VB3 hype. I really tried to love
it but something in the VB3 sound is completely wrong. F.e. in the
full drawbar setting the drawbars don't mix together like they should.
This setting is just unusable. The percussion also doesn't do it for
me in the upper octaves and there are some more malfunctions in the
VB3 sound. What I really like is the VB3 key click. This is the best I
ever heard in a clone.
I did a close comparison of VB3 1.2 beta with my Nord C1 through the
same speakers and through my original tube leslie. The C1 sounds heads
and shoulders better and much more organic than the VB3. Maybe I am
doing something wrong but I really tried hard. BTW I am using a RME
HDSP audio interface which delivers the best VST sound you can get.
The B4 also never was a winner for me. I would always recognize it's
artificial flavor...

B4II (which I've had since it was first released) and VB3 which I just
purchased this week, and without having spent much time with VP3,
tuning and tweaking, I think VB3 is head and shoulders above B4II.

as pleasing). The C/V sparkles just right, there is better tone
quality... lusher and richer, and the tones are better across the
keyboard (and you can tailor the tones across the keys to suit your
taste). I put VB3 through my speakeasy and 147 leslie last night and
I doubt anyone would ever tell it from the real thing.. warm, lush,
lovely.. woo hoo..
