Subject:Revamping My Clonewheel Rig, Part 2...

Thanks all, for your responses to my original post on
the rig revamping issue. And thank you, Randal, for
today's post on the Pro 3X; which is probably going to
be one of the pieces of the puzzle for my evolving rig
revamp.

Anyway...Question or two: Roland VR-760 (V-Combo); had
one, sold it; regret that move. It seems that the
Roland VK engine worked very well for me in a lot of
different settings. The actual drawbars, the
waterfall keyboard, and the ability to expand the
original synth section to include a variety of sample
based voices (with an SRX card) made it a very
powerful and versatile axe; even more so - at least
for the variety of music I cover - than the Nord Stage
I previously owned. The only downside - and this is
where my questions come into play - was the fact that,
unlike the Stage, there were no secondary outputs to
route the organ section; which is extremely helpful -
especially when using a separate rotary enclosure
(versus using an A/B box to switch the signal between
rotary cabinet and regular cabinet - which is still
limiting.).

So where in the heck can I find one of these
keyboards ? 'Discontinued, and pretty hard to come
by' is what I've been hearing. I'm watching ebay,
Harmony Central Classifieds, Sweetwater's Trading
Post, Guitar Center's 'used' section, and Music Go
Round. Any other thoughts on where to look, etc.
would be appreciated.

The second question is: Have any of you here ever
dealt with Roland when it comes to getting schematics
? I would like to research the feasibility of adding
a 2nd pair of outputs to a VR-760, once one is found.

Obviously there are other ways to re-integrate the VK
engine into my rig and combine it with a synth, but
I'd like some feedback on this option first. Thanks
for any light any one can shed on this one...

Allan
