Subject:Motion sound pro-3x

Hi everyone. Just coming out of lurk mode because I just got significantly excited enough to share something with everyone.. I just recently bought a motion sound pro 3x off ebay, sound unheard, as a lightweight option for possible touring and quick setup/pulldown gigs and tried it out last week with my hammond trio using an ampeg bass rig for the low end.

The good news is that I got more punch from the low end sim than anything else including direct into the bass rig. I could really drive the band with the low end more than I ever had. After tweaking ramp times and rotor speeds, I'm really happy with the rotary sound... no screech in the top end either .... super

The only drawback was the inbuilt mic. I've just replaced it with a shure sm57 and the mix out is terrific. No nasties at all. The only thing I'm concerned about is the mic mounting I used and that it might pick up bottom end from the bass cab.. I'm trusting for now, however that the mic circuitry includes a low freq filter.

I remember there being questions in the past about replacing the stock mics in motion sounds with others and can't recall anyone answering... so here you go.

Oh by the way I have no vested interest in Motion Sound, but i've just found out they're a great product at a great price.

cheers -Randal
