Subject:Re: M-3: Transport on its back?

I sold a Hammond M100 a couple of years ago to a man in Tenn. He had
years of experience restoring all models of Hammonds. When he came to
Ohio to buy mine we laid it on it's back in the bed of his enclosed p/u
truck. I was suprised, but he said it dosen't hurt'em. Note we did
tighten down the locking screws that allow the tone wheel section to
float on springs. You must do that first, it is necesary to avoid
damage. I don't know if I'd want to go thru that to transport the beast
every weekend, but a once in a while transport shouldn't hurt anything.
I have a 1959 M3 for sale in Cincinnati Oh if you know any one!
Good Luck
