No, players have been using the SE preamp for tube warmth-to-
overdrive post leslie sim for years until the new AMA power amp was
instroduced. If you got a combination preamp/AMA unit, it seems to me
Speakeasy could give you a preamp-only output that bypasses the power
amp for when you want preamp(s) only.

This is the same general idea as when you want to use the AMA tube
power stage only to go direct into a Leslie, for instance the setup a
few posts before this. SE/Dave added an input to the tube power amp
side to by pass the preamp and go direct from a real Hammond which
already has the AO28 preamp to the Roadbox - same thing for a Leslie
I would think...

I understand the confusion - someone who doesn't have a complete unit
in their hand could get kind of lost in the ins and outs from one
side of the AMA to the other. Since I got my 122/AMA's (I actually
got two) it seems (probably only "seems") like there have been enough
changes at the shop I almost wish I'd waited until they'd done
everything possible they were going to do - I was one of the first
buyers. BUT mine work fine, a fantastic sound - same guts minus dual
preamps the way they are now: The "a few months ago" brand spanking
new Speakeasy 122/AMA version, also set up for my 760 Leslie and MKII
250w Roadbox.

Hmm.. I guess I could ship both of the 122/AMA's back to get the
upgrades, but maybe there'd be another great idea/version by the time
they were on the way back to me? :) I kind of like both ideas, being
able to bypass the power stage or being able to bypass the preamp
stage. Who knows what setup I might be using months from now?

*But wait! If you call right now we'll add a Ginsu knife and Owl
pocket magnifier to your order! #:^7 wtf? heh heh
