Hi everyone,
Close to Jake's rig (see below) I still have a Roland
E36.
Once upon a time (mid 80's) I also tried with 'leslie
emulator' pedal (type of MXR case)
After that I decided not to take any longer the
appealing route of 'solid state leslies'
Then the sound got was something resembling the
ENSEMBLE option of the half moon type switch when
mixing both a rotary and a stationary loudspeaker, so
not a perfect 'pure leslie sound'.
Nevertheless guess that's is matter of taste.
Also understand that many people here is often on the
road.
Nevertheless I'd use a mechanical leslie every time
when possible.

I had this idea too a long time ago, with my old
Roland E86 Arranger that had a couple of pretty good
organ patches, and a Voce Spin module.
No matter the improvement, it still sounded like sh*t
- it wasn't practical.
That's why they make clonewheel organs and modules...
