Subject:Yamaha NP30 - pics & operation guide

Hey everybody ... there is a great retailer here in Mobile, AL that
sells a bunch of yamaha online (AndysMusicOnline.com) and is the
first to google. I went to the store to check out the NP30 because
I've been looking for a lightweight/semiweighted board for a second
manual w/piano for coupling with my electro.

Let me first say ... I am used to weighted keys on my P90...

The NP30 felt weird at first but I got used to the keys quickly. They
are a little spongey but not too bad (not near as bad as maudio,
prokeys 88, etc) thy are a nice "in-between". The velocity response
is useable and pretty damn good for a $299 piano/controller. The
rhodes sound is useable but definately yamaha. The piano sound is
great! It reminds me of my p90. I first listened to it through the
bult in speakers and then went through a small mono keyboard amp and
it was much better. So, the piano sounds great mono!

As far as functionality, it takes a little bit to get used to it but
with the quick reference sheet (included in my linked page) it is
pretty easy to figure out and I'm sure I would learn it quickly. The
outputs are really minimal with a headphones out for a mono main ..
but it works great. I've included pitures in my page also ...

I'm going to go and purchase one, just for a lightweight/second
manual/piano option. Check out the page I included for an instrution
page and closeup photo's .... if y'all want to ask more questions
call Jimmy at Andy's (800-584-3434) ... he'll hook you up be happy to
help you.
