Subject:Running VSTs on a Mac - what VST software to get?

Hi,

I'm about to enter the world of running live VSTs on a MacBook Pro. I have 2GB RAM and a
2.4 GHz processor so I should be all set as far as the computer goes.

My main goals are running Ivory and B4. Here are my questions:

1. Are Reason and Ableton the main Mac choices? I'm not interested in shareware for this
project.

2. Which one do you recommend? I mainly want to play live VSTs.

3. Any recommendations for a MIDI/Audio interface for the Mac? M-Audio has an AudioPhile
USB with MIDI IN/OUT and Audio outs. Would I be better off getting a separate Audio
interface? After all this I wan to ensure the best audio output.

Thanks in advance,
Joe
