Yes, I've performed that tweak on mine and it is an adequate fix for me.
I see the real issue being that a console Hammond (B3. C3 etc) has a much longer key assembly.
Meaning the actual point where the assembly is attached is farther away from the edge of the key.
The keys on a synth/clone are very close to the opposite end of the key.
I noticed this immediately upon playing the XK3 and NEW B3.
Since you can't resolve the key pivot axis one can only attempt to modify the attack.
Still it's not the same as having the long piece of metal that a B3 key uses.

There is a very simple way to adjust the key depth. It is in the MIDI
settings of the XK3. No need for a hardware tweak.

Yes you are right Tony, also Korg CX/BX-3 (V.2) and Electro have very
different keyboard action. Electro do use little stiffer springs to match up
for the piano playability and Electro also trigger at the lower key contact
whereas CX/BX-3 and XK-1 trigger at the upper key contact.
