Subject:Re: Tube dampers?

Lots of talk about dampers. But perhaps some of the sound in a tube amp for musical instruments, that is, is the vibrations of say the speaker that "vibes" the tubes, which is desirable. If you dampen it, it will change. Hence the "like" of amps with speakers in them like a Fender combo amp, Twin, Deluxe, what have you as the speaker is working on the tubes adding to the sound as you play. You would need to try them for sure. For a stereo application, these may be the best use but for musical instruments, specially if you're looking for an overdrive sound. It would have to depend on your own ears, if taking away the extra mojo is to your liking..
