Hi All,

I've got a bit confused too.

Let me quote the tinyURL provided by Walter J., to get
a wider conceptual horizon:

AMA

122 Absolute Modeling Amplifier

Our 122 Absolute Modeling Amplifier has bridged the
gap in finding that true classic tone.

This version is designed for those who own one of our
"Vintage Tube" Preamps but are looking for that final
piece of the puzzle.

When your preamp is combined with this amplifier, you
will have a complete model of the AO-28 / Leslie™
signal path, ready for any clean solid amplifier of
your choosing.

Make a solid state rotary cabinet, sound like it was
built in 1959! Or, use your on board simulator and any
standard PA.

Practicing at home? Hookup any full range 8 ohm
speaker
cabinet, and still enjoy that same classic tone.

Tha't is quite clear unless to think that I shouldn't
need exactly a B3 AO-28 preamp when using the above
with a clone.

May I think that the AMA, add a TUBE AMP to the SE
preamp models ,to get more OVERDRIVE signal from power
tubes rather than overdrive coming only from preamp
tubes ?

If yes that concept would be quite close to the
classical tradition about how-to get better overdriven
sounds, in the guitar amps field.

It looks close to the concept when J.Lord
experimented sending the Hammond signal before to the
P.A chain, but through tube amps before it.

Nevertheless not being a tube purist, I wonder if the
solid state part of the proposed chain will keep the
warmth of a ALL TUBE counterparts.

I see the above like this:

TUBE preamp + TUBE amp ===> ss POWER

So if ALL TUBE sound (pre + amp) sent after, thru
solid state P.A. then usually will be heard through
powers featuring bipolar transistors (BJT).

Saddly, isn't common to find datasheets with full
specs at manufacturer's sites of solid state power
amps.

Hope they hear this :) , about telling us what kind of
transistors were used in each amp, something good if
they need to be replaced.

Usually the price can be a hint, as BJT are cheaper
and MosFET output transistors are pricey.

What seems to be better would be to have this schema:

PREamp + powerAMP (all TUBE) ====> solid state
POWERamp

better yet if featuring JFET OUTPUT transistors , what
as told above means more money.

What I've seen on local shops, are entry models above
three figures entry models and that is now out of my
budget.

FYI, the brand begins with Q.. (you know).

Please let me know if any of my deductions here were
unclear or wrong.

Unless to me, confusion is a capital sin :)

Rafael
