Jim. I guess I'll put in my $.02 as well. The preamp is the "AO-28" in
the audio chain. The AMA acts as the "leslie amp". I think the
difference between the preamp and the AMA as far as the grit and grind
tone is concerned is that the AMA gives you more control over how much
or how little distortion you want, at any volume. The new "dual preamp"
feature gives you the choice between a clean tone and a grungy tone. I
could be totally way out in left field on that, but that's how I
currently perceive it.
