Subject:Re: Drawbar Setting Accuracy (plus Richard's question...)

My handful of favorite drawbar settings are mostly
'tweaks' from registrations I've seen in books,
on-line, etc. While a couple have been great 'as is',
most are 'edits' - good starting points, so to
speak...As Lou suggested, the same registrations will
often sound different - depending on the
instrument/amplification. Hence the need for
tweaking/experimenting.
One drawbar setting that worked nicely on my VK-8M,
and then did translate fairly well to my Nord Stage
is: 6776001035. Seems to work well on the Country/Rock
tunes where I need presence without being too full,
yet have a bit of a bright edge. When I need to 'fall
back', I'll often pull the last two drawbars back to 1
& 3, or 0 &1 (677601013, 677601001); for soloing with
this registration, 677602146 works great.
