Subject:Drawbar Setting Accuracy

In an earlier post, Richard asked for some drawbar
registrations and Joe sent him a link. That got me to
wondering. I can't believe that all drawbar settings
will sound the same. I mean, the output signal from a
B-3 with the drawbars set the same as my CX-3 will
probably not be the same. Then, the sound might go
through some pre-amp processing and ultimately into
either a Leslie 147 or a Speakeasy RB-III which
probably do not sound the same.

So I get to wondering if I dialed in 68 8600 000 on my
CX-3 like the link suggests for AWSOP, will it really
sound like the song? My guess is not. Don't we
basically have to just play with the drawbars until it
sounds the way we want it? It is interesting to see
some drastic drawbar differences like the blues
setting of 88 8800 000 vs. an Errol Garner setting of
80 0008 888.

I would like to know how many have used the suggested
drawbar settings and gotten the "right" sound the
first time. Then, if the settings are tweaked to get
the "right" sound, how much different are they from
the suggested ones. Just curious.

Lou
