Yes, new to moving air at least. And new to the group.

At the moment I've got an XB2 which I'm running through a Hughes &
Kettner Rotosphere, but I'm thinking it is about time I upgraded
everything. The XK-3 sounds really good from the clips I've heard,
and the enhancements should make the new model even better. I like
the way it is laid out like the real thing (hopefully it plays like it
too!).

So going back to the original question, will the Speakeasy preamp make
much difference to the sound?
