Subject:OT threads and netiquette
It has been brought to my attention that many posts are getting WAY
off topic here.
This is a discussion group about Hammond organ clones and what goes
into playing a Hammond clone. Since a Hammond clone directly
references Hammond organs and Leslie cabinets, we routinely discuss
these products. People just getting familiar with clones have many
questions about the products we are emulating and general discussions
about Hammonds and Leslies will always take place.
If you feel the need to ask, post or opine on very specific detials of
Hammond organs or Leslies, you're probably better off posting in a
group for that purpose. This is NOT a Hammond or Leslie discussion group.
That said, something that is off topic here should still be of
interest to the charter of this group. A discussion of Greatest
Hammond Tunes or Best B3 Players or Worst Organ Tunes would be OT.
Other modules and keyboards that complement the clonewheeler's rig
would also be OT.
Politics, gossip and broader topics are not OT from clonewheels. Take
it offline, and further, any personal issues should also be taken offline.
For example, I recently posted some gear for sale and stated several
times to reply offline.
ANY subject can be discussed in any private email or other forum you
choose. Please take advantage of that option.
While I'm on my moderator's soapbox, I will ask that you pay careful
attention to the text you include in your reply. DO trim the included
text to JUST what is NEEDED to give your response context. We have
threads on the website and anyone getting emails has every message to
follow - there is NO need to include everything that came before.
We have asked several times, and we will now enforce this. If you find
your posts are being delayed, and then magically edited, along with a
warning email, you're on thin ice.
