I believe the louver idea or venetian blind type of effect mentioned
was based on DRAFT....not daft. Perhaps you misunderstood.
Something like the windwing or mechanical spoiler on the VW Turbo
Beetle that raises in relation to the auto speed...and it wouldn't need to
be a flat panel as in venetian blinds. It could be any shape that achieves
the desired sonic effects.
Some Leslie-oriented cabinet retailers have actually taken and modified the
forward facing speaker orientation ideas found in Don Leslie's Rotosonic
cabinets...but left out the spinning baffle portion and louver dampening
alltogether!
It's just one speaker fixed and facing forward. Yet no one called them daft
and their cabinets are selling quite well to a number of seemingly satisfied
customers on this very forum!
