Simple solution - split the newsgroup in to gear and chops (alhtough this one opens another can of worms) - everyone happy? Or?

I agree with your thoughts on what's most helpful. You have to have
some level of gear, but then it should be all about the chops. When
I joined this group awhile back, I was just beginning my journey
toward Hammond clone heaven. Had a Yamaha PSR2100 running through a
KBR-3D amp (OK, you have to start somewhere). Comments in this
forum helped me decide that a CX-3 would be a good addition - I got
one, but was disappointed with the sound out of the box. Eventually
ended up with a Pro145, and now, after some "tweaking" have "that
sound" (at least close enough for me, which is all that counts).
Now that I have a rig that's good enough for me, I want to focus on
the chops and take my playing to the next level. If we spend all
our time chasing the holy grail of sound, we'll miss the joy that
comes from the music. So, at this point, I'd like to hear more
about the music, and less about the gear.
