You need power tubes to get that creamy overdrive and
compression. A good power tube pa head (if you can
find one) with a line out or record out will give that
type of overdrive. I use a 1970's reworked/restored
Fender PA 135 head. The Fender Black Face design tube
amps will also do it. Also, an old HiFi amp/preamp
with power tubes is an option.
