Subject:XK-2 as lower manual for XK-1

I've been researching possible controllers for my xk-1 lower manual,
and with the crazy controller setup for the drawbars, I've been
thinking about trying an xk-2 to control keys and drawbars on the
xk-1,since I've been finding them on ebay for not much more than a new
d3m.
Has anyone tried this?
My other idea, since I will eventually be using a real rotary cabinet,
is to just use the output from the xk-2 for the lower manual, to have
separate c/v for both manuals.
Without the rotary sim, are the sounds similar enough to do this?
