Subject:Re: Hammond XK-1... opinions sought... look Ma, no sound based keyboards, just midi PC ...

no XK-1,2,,3.X,Y,Z,., no electro, none of those things - just software:

like tony says, the B4 and some other stuff does the trick - all soft based:

A70 midi controller to small mini-ATX based PC in front w/ 17" LCD
to yamaha 800w (400w+400w) stereo head to 4 x 12" jensens in a dual angled
cabinet -
left 2 vertical speakers are the left channel and the right 2 are the right
channel.

i'm standing (with guitar) showing a guest guitar player how to use the
leslie & swell pedals.
the unit runs the B4, the B3 (elogic), Clav (elogic), Lounge lizard,
Scarbee
rhodes & wurlitzer samples, a bunch of concert grands & a flute that sounds
like a mellotron in the lower register (think strawberry fields). whole
bunch of other brass, synths, and other stuff in there but the above is what
i keep ready on the screen. if you need to tame loud guitar players then
this does the trick - they don't stand a chance (800w). i don't abuse it.

real bad picture but i have nothing else.

p.s. i've never - not once - had a 'computer issue' with this setup - if i
ever did, the A70 has a sound board in it for an emergency.
