Subject:Re: XK-3c brochure
Thanks for the information.
That sounds almost too good to be true. Let's hope the upgrade/update can be carried out by the owners. I can do without the improved MIDI features and any further tweaking of parameters. I would wish for a less aggressive C3 chorus, a better leslie sim (for situations where a real leslie is not feasible), a warmer overdrive (all things mentioned in the brochure) and - I'm sure you fellow XK-3 owners will agree with me: a more convincing key and release click. With that addressed I think I'll be more than satisfied. Add a good tube preamp and real leslie and we're there.
Crossing fingers.
Thanks again,
Christian

I was told the other day that in the late summer, Hammond-Suzuki will
be releasing an update for current XK-3 owners. Because nothing has
been officially announced I won't reveal the source of this info, but
it wasn't just someone off the street somewhere. Assuming there is any
truth in this, I'd guess that not all of the features available in the
new XK-3c will be available in this update. However, the source claims
there will be no audible difference between the XK-3 and XK-3c after
the update has been installed.
I hope this is true, but again, I'm not fully convinced until I hear
an official announcement. I'm not planning to sell my XK-3 for an
XK-3c right away anyway so in the meantime I'm gonna keep an eye out
for any official news regarding this.
