Allow me to add another "endorsement". I play a Hammond XK-3 through a
Speakeasy Vintage Tube Preamp through a Leslie 142 (short 122). With
the Leslie not rotating, no chorus/vibrato or overdrive, my ears tell
me I'm listening to the real deal. I play a C3 and Leslie 122 weekly.
I couldn't do a side by side comparison, but I did unplug the slow
motors, and then played with the Leslie stopped. Again, to my ears, no
difference in tone. YMMV though.
