Subject:Midi usage
Opps. I posted this by accident on the Nord site. Oh well it is
hammond related. I am back to music after 40 or so years off and the
technology has changed so much. I play in a trio, guitar, keys and
drums covering classic 60's rock. We have played out a couple of times
and my issue is becoming the time to change setups between songs. I
use a Roland 300sx and a Korg CX-3 and have taught myself enough midi
that I can use them to-gether, sometimes with the Roland as a lower
keyboard for the Korg, sometimes also doing its own sounds as well,
such as bass doubled to say 808.. on the Korg. Sometimes the Korg
itself takes some editing, for such things as amp drive, mellow vs.
bright etc., The end seems to me that I am fiddling a lot between
songs, sometimes so much as to start losing the audience. I don't know
much at all about control changes and don't know how to use them yet.
My limited knowledge suggests using a sequencer and having all of the
settings for each song on it, so one button should reset everthing.
Could some of you comment, even on the conceptual level, about how you
handle all of the settings changes between individual songs. TIA
