Subject:RE: Original KORG CX-3 and Leslie 312 Problem

after sending the message I realised you hadn't any hum when connected,
so my guees was totally wrong. If fine for you, nothing more to say. I'm
an electrical engineer and know that this ground issues are very hard to
find (more from the distance)....

Ramon

Hi Ramon,

No, that's not the case. The BX-3 is connected to a spare outlet in
power strip of the same rack case as the Speakeasy Preamp and power amp.
Trust me, I've checked all the easy things. If the ground is lifted on
the BX-3, a very loud hum is applied to the power amp output -- about
1/2 the maximum volume available. If the ground is connected, this goes
away. I have a very old Speakeasy, so this might have something to do
about it.

I'm not looking for a solution, because when everything is connected
right, it all works perfectly. I simply mentioned that the Korg products
seem to be prone to noise issues when improperly grounded.

Regards,

-BW
