Cutting sound? Maybe... But for a REAL Hammond playing experience you must
have REAL drawbars! Until Clavia realizes this the C1 and Electro will never
be played by this old Hammond player.

I received the C-1 today, and I am writing a short review. First let
me tell everyone who does not know me, I SELL NORD PRODUCTS. On to the
review.

I have a great sounding 57 B-3 to compare the Nord to. I set the Nord
on top of the B-3. The B-3 going into the 6 pin and the Nord going
into the 1/4 inch in on my custom high powered Leslie. I turned off
the simulator and the amp simulation and no reverb. I set the menu to
Vintage 2 wich has the same amount of cross talk as my 57 does. I
tweeked the EQ, testing note for note for the right amount of Treble
,Mid and Bass. I went up and down the board especially in the mid to
upper end comparing notes and chords alike. I gotta say the core sound
is so close its almost spot on. If the real Hammond is a 10, to say
this keyboard is a 9++ in my opinion is no exageration. These guys did
their home work.

The keyclick sounds great, you even here the after touch when you
release the key. The only minor flaw I see here is, you have to turn
up the treble to accent the click more, wich will in turn britten the
organ. What Clavia might do, and this is probably an easy reroute,
would be to put a volume adjustment to raise the great sounding
keyclick as much as you desire.

Percussion sounds awesome to,clunky and woody. Once again, I think the
overall amount of perc should be user adjustable. Looks like a simple
software upgrade.

C3 Chorus sounds fine to me, a little deeper like a A-100 but none the
less, great sounding. The board triggers fast like a real Hammond. I
will put a nice video together going thru everything. That will take a
few days. Be rest assured, this piece in my opinion, is the cutting
edge for the Hammond sound. Thats all I have for now.
