Subject:Re: Motion Sound Pro3 vs. Korg CX3 Leslie effects.

I've heard the CX-3 (new one) in a blues/funk band setting, and the
leslie is what stuck out to me the most, the thing really cooked. I
too have the old CX-3, and I just bought a boss RT-20. I'm pretty
satisfied with my sound now, but it's taken a lot of hours to make it
work, those old Korgs really have to be messed with to get them to
sound good. I've found the presets are pretty well worthless, so I use
the drawbars all the time. I used to take the Korg alone to a blues
jam every week, and I cringed every time I went for the upper octaves,
but now with the RT-20 it's actually cutting through and screaming.
But if I had extra money there's no doubt I'd step up to either the
VK-8 or the new CX.
As far as the motion sound goes, are you usually running right into
the board, or using the Motion sound as your only form of
amplification? If you're miking it and going into the board I'd think
the onboard sim in the CX would be the way to go. Then again, I'm
getting old, and if I can't take all my stuff in one trip from the
car, I don't go.
