Subject:Re: Lightweight gear, NORD....
The obvious RMI users: Tony Banks (all over old Genesis records); Rick Wakeman (the piano and harpsichord parts on YesSongs); I believe Roger Powel may have used one for a while (I know he used the RMI Keyboard Computer for sure); and I heard rumor that Dr. John played one on some Toussaint sessions (I don't believe that's what's on "Right Place/Wrong Time" though).
Here's a couple photos for those who've never seen one. I played one once, and it always surprised me that Tony Banks could play the intro to LambLiesDown on this thing. (very light action as I recall)

Hi,
I think the RMI Electra Piano and Harpsichord (it's given name) was the best kept secret of the '70s. I was the only one that I *personally knew using one, but in looking (and listening) back, they were on all kinds of recordings.
I even bought the leg extensions for mine, but only used the front ones (towards the keyboard). It gave the RMI a cool "raked" look, allowed the audience to see me better, and probably started me on the road to playing standing up at all times. (I still do.)
