Heya,

I haven't had any problems buying software online. With NI, you
register your copy online at their website, but copies can be
transferred and the original owner can de-activate the registration so
that you can re-register once you receive your coy. If you buy used,
make sure the seller knows how to, and does, de-activate their
registration.

Some companies, like Sonar, will not allow transfer of registration.
ALWAYS ask the seller, and make sure they check with the manufacturer
so they can give you good information. You might want to double-check
yourself, nothing wrong with playing it safe. Some companies also use
dongles as well, and if you don't get the dongle along with the
program you are SOL.

You might want to take a look at the Native Instruments website for
more information on B4II, there is a user forum in the "Community"
section where you can browse adn also search for more information.

Click on the world "Community" in the line at the top of the page, and
them click on the red words "User Forum" at the end of the second
paragraph listing which tells you what a user foru is . Then you
can wander off into th evarious fora for the various programs they sell.

There is some agreement among the users in the B4 forum that the
actual sounds in B4II do not sound near as good as the original B4. At
one point there was an identified problem with the "Drive" settings,
and I don't remember if I ever saw if it was fixed. I use B4I as a
VST in FreeVST (freeware) with the ANWIDA Soft DX Reverb Light
(freeware) on an old IBM Thinkpad 300 mHz and the sound is SMOKIN'.
B4I doesn't have its own rever, which is why I go the VST route. B4II
has onboard reverb and a few other features, but I prefer the sound
and tone of B4I, and B4II wouldn't run on my little laptop anyway, so
I'm happy.

Also, there is a second-hand copy of NI B4II on eBay right now as I
write this, teh bidding for this one is at $50.
