Subject:Re: Leslie 3300 on it's way!
I'm no "Expert", but I have a Leslie 3300 too, for over a month now.
I ordered the Hammond-Suzuki cheap momentary foot switch (FS-9H,
$30.00) with the 3300. Pretty much any momentary foot switch will
work, even the $10 (or less) cheapies. You'll need it later anyway, if
you tweak the rise, fall, speed and brake parameters by turning the
pots on the back of the 3300. If you want to return them to the
factory settings, it requires you to have a momentary single footswitch.
The way it's supposed to work is quickly click the footswitch to
change states from chorale to tremolo and hold the pedal down for 1.5
to 2 seconds to go into brake mode. It's simplistic, but was very
usable with my POS Yamaha practice keyboard and 3300 combination. With
a little bit of foot practice, you can ramp up to tremolo with 2 quick
clicks from brake state and ramp down to zero anytime you want by
merely holding the foot switch down for a bit. I really like that
little pedal. In some ways, I like it better than the Leslie kicker
foot switch on my EXP100-F expression pedal. There's not much room for
the little momentary switch with my 25 key base pedals, so I stuck it
back in storage in the organ bench. It will get used again if I ever
tweak and want to reset the Leslie.
