I believe what you need is an Apple printer cable. The 3ft cable HS gives you is worthless (unless you're putting the drawbars on top of the rack), and so I bought Apple printer extension cables from Office Depot for like $10. They're 16-20ft long, and worked with the XMc module and drawbar controller, and worked with the new XM1 module and controller.
