Well, as I read farther down I see that it was indeed the Red Dog Inn. My
band played there fairly often, and we played the last gig at the original
Red Dog when they closed back in '74 or so. Later it opened as the Free
State Opera House, etc. etc. and may now be the Red Dog Inn again.
I was a big Sons fan and remember seeing them, but I don't think we made it
for the entire show. We probably had a gig somewhere else in town.
I'm sorry I can't say that I heard you play -- When I really strain my old
brain I can remember snatches of that period of my life. I guess we partied
a little too hard at times.
Amazing how much of the 70's I don't remember.

I am the proud owner of a poster made up for the Red Dog Saloon in Lawrence
KS in 1973 for a concert with Sons of Champlin and Slaughterhouse (my band).
I seem to remember the Red Dog being some old converted theatre with a nice
stage.
To make things even better, afterwards we had a big jam with everybody. I
played organ and Bill Champlin sat down behind the drumset and smoked!
