Subject:Re: Voce V3 main output problem - Please help!!

If you don't want to use the external 220 to 110 transformer, I wouldn't
change the internal one, but change the jumpers, as Dave says.... I
don't remember measuring the internal transformers output, so you may
change an extra damage.... I also didn't test the effects out....

After this, or right now since you have the external trafo, I would
check if all voltage regulators are ok. If not, change them and
hopefully problem solved.

I thought the same as you with the power input and ask Dave to change
the manual to avoid more people having this problem, but Dave didn't
want to.

And as we say here: a fuse is a device used in electrical systems, which
is protected against overcurrent by a very expensive circuitry.

Hello Ramon and Dave and thank you very much for your help.

Ramon, yes at the moment I use a 220 to 110 V transformer but I also
thought I should change the V3 transformer to see what happens. Did
you get exctly the same symptoms (apart from the effects out, which
works, though distorted, in my case)?

Dave, the V3 trasformer says: 2 x 170 V input and 2 X 6 V output. I
measured the output values with a multimeter and I get 0.32 Volts!!!
in both outputs. ould this mean that the mai out will not work
because ther is not enough voltage to run the rotary speaker
circuit? (which is absent anyway in the effects out route). Should I
try to replace the V3 tranformer with another one woth 2 X 230 input
nad 2 X 6 V output and in this case change the jumpers as you
instructed? I have some skill in elecctronics and I am very good
with a soldering iron.

When you say that plugging in the wrong voltage is usually fatal to
the unit, you mean that although blowing the fuse, the higher
voltage might have harmed other parts of the V3 than the voltage
transformer, and if yes, how will I be able to fix it - Is there any
way to get a service manual or any schematics?

THanks and waiting anxiously for your replies

P.S. I relly thought there was an automatic switch for changing the
vooltage input state, this is the way my E-mu E-synth keyboard works
( it gets either 110 or 220 volts, without changing any jumpers or
doing anything else), other wise I would never have connected this
to 200 V!! :(
