Hi Doug,
>I was thinking "Well, because it might sound good."
It very well might. But I wouldn't hold my breath on it. There have literally been dozens of Leslie sims over the years, all claiming to have "finally captured the realism of the famous rotary speaker." A handful of them have gotten close; none have perfectly hit the nail on the head. Since Behringer products are at best copycats -- and at worst blatant ripoffs -- of other products, I doubt that Behringer engineers have spent the time and money that would be necessary to move to the next level in Leslie modeling.
The fact that the Behringer box is a) extremely low cost, and b) designed in a stomp-pedal format implies some trade-offs. Generally, guitarists -- to whom this box is clearly aimed -- are a lot less critical about the "Leslie sound" than clonewheelers. Heck, most of the guitarists I've met that use some sort of Leslie sim have never even heard a real Leslie -- until I play my Tele through my LowBoy From Hell. Then their eyes light up! :-)
We'll know in a few months ...
Regards,
-BW
