Amen, brother! OK, now I am starting to feel real
good. I have yet to find a synth that has a patch
that I consider a nice B3 sound. I actually got an
unpleasant feeling when I heard someone say they heard
that Korg might drop the CX-3. And when a band is
going for an organ sound, I have always been able to
tell if it is a clonewheel sound. If it is live, I
can always tell if Leslie-type speakers are used. I
haven't gotten to the point where I can accurately
guess the drawbar settings - but I always wonder what
they are!
I am infected and I definitely like this bug!
Fortunately, I don't have to shell out $5K for 400 lbs
of true-blue Hammond sound. I actually feel good
knowing I am in the minority on knowing and loving the
Hammond sound. I play synthesizer (S90ES) along with
my clone (CX-3), but I love playing the organ parts
the best. When people have commented (positively) on
my playing, they have always mentioned what I do on
the clone. I guess it's just a relationship that was
always meant to be!
Lou
