Subject:Digital Pianos (OT)

Ok, I know this is slightly OT, and this has probably been discussed
to death...but its been a Yamaha lovefest, so I want to solicit
opinions on some other brands. Anyone have any experience with the
newer Roland stage models... ie the RD 300/700SX or FP series? These
both sounded pretty good to me in the store, but we all know how that
goes when you actually take it out on the job. So how do they sound in
the mix, in mono, etc.? I already have a kurzweil engine in Pc2R form,
so I dont want to duplicate that. I am not really interested in the
Casio or MAudio stuff, but do like the footprint/weight of those! Saw
the new Yammi CP series, but wasnt blown over, and the P140 and P70,
while cheaper...seemed, well, cheaper. So I find myself in the RD300SX
or FP-5 territory. Onboard speakers, while not necessary for me will
not be a minus point, unless the wight /footprint suffers. Since the
RD700SX shares the same samples (except the extra grand in the 700) I
am listening to comments about that as well, although the extra grand
is not (to me) worth the 'extra grand' $)

What say you? Discuss...

Thanks, Greg
