true...I guess Leon needs to decide what he really wants....all tonewheel or a little of both worlds....I'd go with Nord then, but I'm not sure if you can score one for $1,500 or less...

The non-Hammond sounds on the XK1 are pretty bad...IMO.

I would consider an XK-1 if you want mainly Hammond and some EP's -or- if you can find one- a Roland V-Combo. If your wanting strictly tone-wheel organ, I'd go with a VK-7, or 8. That should fit into your budget.

professional like the rest of you. I played just for my own
entertainment. Loved Jimmy Smith. The day came when I needed the room
and the Hammond and leslie had to go. Now I'm retired and would like to
fool around again , but with a keyboard (for the room) I already
purchased a Peavy 300 amp. Now I need the keyboard. What would you fine
people advise ???

Wow! Great amp - I love bass amps with organ, not just EP's. Your best
sound is going to be with two amps for stereo to get the full
rotary/Leslie effect, seriously, for a home setup. One of the classic
middle-of-the-road combo organs, like the Roland VK7 or Korg CX3 used
from eBay would work fine. Wj
