Subject:Re: Korg CX-3 drawbar settings/library

Hi All,

For the record:

- I (Bruce Wahler) developed only the Leslie settings by comparing my MIDI'ed Leslie 251 to the sound of the CX-3's Leslie sim. I used the Leslie visuals to figure out the ramp, start, and stop times. The final comparison MP3s can be heard at http://clonewheel.ashbysolutions.com, in the Korg section.

- David created the amp, overtone, and leakage settings by comparing the CX-3 to several real B-3's he owns (owned?).

- The whole thing requires a tube preamp and possibly some EQ to really dial things in. I find that most of the Leslie sims sound better with a boost at around 2KHz, and a cut of the standard treble (10K-12KHz). This more closely emulates the "honk" of a real Leslie horn and driver, IMHO.

Regards,

-BW
