Subject:Re: Electro and 122AMA = Dyno My Piano?

Walt, That is really encouraging to hear. I was wondering about playing my
RD-300sx with its EPs etc through the modeling amp also. I especially like
that you're hearing the nuances between the EPs more noticibly etc.

One question I'd like to throw out regarding the 122AMA options. Is there
any advantage or disadvantage to having the SE preamp built into the 122AMA?
I already have a SE preamp, so I can just buy the 122AMA. That would give me
one unit rack mounted, one unit not. But what I'm really getting at is
this: If they are both built into the same rack mount unit, does that eliminate
the ability to bypass the 122AMA, should I ever want to? (not that I can
really conceive of that need now). Is that a significant issue?

As I see it I can buy a 122AMA and have yet another piece of equipment with
more cords, but with more felxibility,or I can sell my SE preamp and get the
combined SE preamp with AMA. I'm open to hear all advantages / disadvantages
that we on here can come up with.

Thanks,
Gene

So the AMA amp modeler was 'modeling' my EP's like a big guitar/bass
cabinet. It cleared up the difference between the first three Rhodes
and Wurly samples I have onboard my Electro, so each one was distinctly
different from the others, versus sounding pretty close to the same,
until you were really hammering them. Then the 'nice' effects sounded
beautiful at lower volumes. I'm totally stoked on Steve's newest
creation = a big recommend ...and I paid full price. Wj NE'74
