You need an bass cabinet for the lower rotor sim. And there is PLENTY of it!

David,
I was wondering if there is enough bass on your 2101 without a lower rotor
for lefthand bass for real quiet gigs.We do not have any retailer around
here stocking the amp so I have not tried it.
Thanks
Lawrence

Even the best leslie sim cannot compare to a real spinning horn. I use an
XK3 into a Speakeasy AMA into a Leslie 2101. Sounds pretty damn good.

The specific feedback I got (on another forum) when I was buying my
clonewheel was that the Leslie sim. for the original XK-3 and
XM-2/XMc-2 was _NOT_ the same upgraded Leslie sim. as on the new XK-1.
After doing an A/B with the XK-1 and XK-3, the XK-1 Leslie sim. is
clearly better, esp. with some minor tweaks to the mic parameters
(160*, 0.6m).
I haven't had the chance to do an A/B with the XK-1 vs. the XM-2. If
the XM-2 sim. is the same as the XK-3 as others have said, then the
XK-1 is absolutely more convincing. If not, well, then its not. :)
I just wish the XK-1 had that classic 11-pin Leslie connector.
How is the 2101 working out for you? Are you running it on its own or
are you using an external setup for the lower rotor output?

probably meant) is the exact same as on the XK-3 & XK-1 (which is the
one Keyboard mag said was improved). I have the XM-2 & the int. sim.
is not that great. For most jobs I'm using a Leslie 2101 w/ newly
added Speakeasy AMA - review to come in a couple weeks - so the int.
sim isn't a great problem. However after doing a few weeks where I
needed to use the int. sim on half the jobs I would hope that if there
is an upgrade it is one that you can pop into existing models.
